Ambassador Churchill Ewumbue-Monono is Cameroon's Permanent Representative to the African Union and UNECA, and Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti. With over three decades in foreign service, he has shaped Cameroon's diplomatic presence across Africa and beyond.

A prolific scholar and author, he has published works on Pan-Africanism, Cameroon's history, humanitarian law, youth empowerment, and governance. His career reflects a unique synergy between diplomacy, academia, and public service.

Foundation in Diplomacy

Completed his MA Thesis on the Pan-African News Agency and Regional Integration in Africa at IRIC, University of Yaoundé.

1990s

Foreign Postings Begin

Served as Second Counsellor at the Embassy of Cameroon in Addis Ababa, and later as Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of Cameroon in Moscow.

2009

Scholarly Milestone

Published Youth and Nation-Building in Cameroon — a landmark study of national youth day messages and leadership discourse from 1949 to 2009.

Permanent Representative to the AU

Appointed Cameroon's Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti, and Permanent Representative to the African Union and UNECA.
